An arson fire Wednesday caused more than $400,000 damage to St. David’s Episcopal Church in Bay Park, the Fire Department reported.
About 20 firefighters quickly controlled the blaze, which began about 2:45 a.m. in the church’s sanctuary, officials said. No one was injured.
Damage to the wood-frame structure was estimated at $380,000. Damage to the contents was listed at $30,000.
The Metro Arson Strike Team was investigating to determine the cause of the fire. Anyone with information is asked to call 236-6815.
