An 84-year-old man died Tuesday from head injuries sustained in a car crash last month, police said.

Pedro Gonzales of Orange died at UCI Medical Center as a result of a May 31 car accident in which he was pinned to the front seat of a 1976 Mercury Cougar in which he was a passenger, Police Sgt. Jim Hudson said.

The driver, 19-year-old Francisco Alcala Cardenas of Lynwood, ran a red light at Batavia Street and Palm Place and plowed into an oncoming pickup truck, Hudson said.
