Norwalk : Many Civic Services Will Be Subject to New, Higher Fees
- Share via
The Norwalk City Council on Tuesday increased fees and established new charges for more than 100 city services ranging from construction inspections to pet neutering.
For example, the city will charge from $6 to $25 for some youth recreation classes that are now free. The price of a dog license will increase about 14% from $17.50 to $20. Many of the fees are discounted for low-income senior citizens and handicapped residents.
The city hopes to generate about $915,000 a year in revenue from the increased and new fees, which take effect July 5.
