Orel Hershiser’s many references to praying and discussing his arm problems with the supreme being (May 29) not only made The Times’ sports section read like a religious tract, it illustrated the astounding self-absorption of multimillionaire athletes who see their less than life-and-death ailments as matters of cosmic concern.
