SQUEEZE: A bad week for newspapers may get worse. . . . On the day of the demise of the National, the sports daily that folded Thursday (C5), there was talk that the beleaguered Orange Coast Daily Pilot might end daily publication and go to three times a week, possibly with free distribution (D1). . . . Once the county’s largest community newspaper, the Pilot has seen circulation plunge in the last decade.
