The Jewish Family Service Family Violence Project, a non-sectarian program that provides services to battered women and their children, is seeking donations to support its programs. The project offers support groups, individual and family therapy, and referrals to shelters and other emergency assistance. In addition, there is a support group for men who batter and an abuse-prevention program designed for teen-agers. Program fees are determined according to financial need. The San Fernando Valley office is located at 6851 Lennox Ave., Van Nuys. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Bet Tzedek Legal Services has new evening hours at its North Hollywood office. Bet Tzedek (The House of Justice) offers free legal representation to low-income people with cases involving government benefits, landlord-tenant disputes, nursing-home problems, foreclosure and disability-benefits appeals. The North Hollywood Bet Tzedek will now take Wednesday evening appointments. Its weekday schedule is Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon. Legal and non-legal volunteers are also needed to handle cases and interview clients for eligibility. The office is located at 12821 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood. The Foundation for Pierce College will sponsor the second annual Western Celebration for Education on June 15. Winners of student scholarships to incoming freshmen for academic achievement will be named at the event. It will also feature a country-Western band, Hollywood stuntmen, dancing, food and more. The Marianne Frostig Center Auxiliary will sponsor a “Day at Disney--101 Dalmatians” to benefit learning-disabled students. On June 30, Pongo, Perdita, Cruella DeVille and other characters from “101 Dalmatians” will welcome guests to the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. The party includes a premiere screening of the re-release of the 1961 film classic. Families will enjoy a buffet lunch, games, rides, photographs with the Disney characters and more. The Marianne Frostig Center of Educational Therapy is a full-time day school for learning-disabled children in primary grades through high school. Tickets for the party at the Walt Disney Studios are $50 for adults, $25 for children ages 2 through 15, and children under 2 are free. Advance purchase is required.
