Ted’s Ticket: Just who reads those legal advertisements with the tiny print? Well, at least one reader of the Arlington (Va.) Journal, who spotted Sen. Ted Kennedy’s name among the top 50 parking-ticket scofflaws in the county. A Kennedy spokesman called the lapse an oversight, and the overdue $310 in fines has been paid.

Jerry’s Success: The National Lentil Festival, which you all know is in Pullman, Wash., will have to do without comedian Jerry Seinfeld this year. He canceled his appearance because his TV series, “Seinfeld,” has been renewed. Seinfeld was to be the top performer Sept. 20 at the four-day festival celebrating the lentil--which you all know is the protein-packed plant belonging to the pea family.

Wilma’s Agents: Track star Wilma Rudolph will be listed in the World Book Encyclopedia for the first time, thanks to some pretty indignant school kids. Seems a fourth-grade class at Maryland’s Jessup Elementary wanted to do a project on Rudolph, who in 1960 was the first American woman to win three Olympic gold medals. But Rudolph wasn’t listed in the book. So the kids fired off a petition and letter to the publisher. The result: Rudolph’s biography is in the 1991 edition.

Lena’s Resume: Boy, were they ragging on Texas Gov. Ann Richards the other night at a roast in Washington. Texas Railroad Commissioner Lena Guerrero said Richards launched her political career with a desire for the power of Queen Elizabeth I, the intelligence of Madame Curie, the eloquence of Eleanor Roosevelt and the courage of Amelia Earhart. Instead, she has “the wrinkles of Lloyd Bentsen, the judgment of John Sununu, the tolerance of Jesse Helms and the reputation of Sue Ellen Ewing.” “Lena, Lena, Lena,” responded Richards to her appointee, “what the governor giveth, the governor can taketh away.”
