Faria Wins Speedway Scratch Main Event

Mike Faria of Colton won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Greg Hancock of Costa Mesa was second, Chris Manchester of Hesperia third and Charlie Venegas of Walnut Creek fourth.

Manchester won the eight-lap handicap main event. Steve Lucero of Riverside was second, Faria third, Don Odom of Redondo Beach fourth and Pat Hawley of Huntington Beach fifth.
