A travel agency employee pleaded guilty Friday to charging $30,000 on Pete Rose’s credit card while the former Reds manager was in prison.

Ihlendorf worked for an agency that made travel arrangements for Rose and his wife, Carol, said U.S. Atty. D. Michael Crites.

Ihlendorf used Rose’s American Express account number to make the charges, Crites said.

Ihlendorf, who is free on his own recognizance, will be sentenced in eight to 10 weeks after a presentence investigation. He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Rose, baseball’s leading hitter, served five months in prison and is completing a community service term for cheating on his federal income taxes.
