West Covina : Water Rates to Be Increased
Effective July 1, city customers will pay an average 10.5% more for water.
The City Council voted unanimously for the increase to offset a $184,680 deficit due to higher water and power costs, lower water sales and construction.
Depending on meter sizes, rate hikes will be based on a sliding scale ranging from 9.4% to 10.91%. An average customer who uses 4,000 cubic feet of water every two-month billing cycle can expect to pay $67.80, instead of $60.86. If that customer conserves 10% of water used in 1989-90, the bill will be $63.26.
