* Two-year-old Fiona Potter was limp and not breathing when teachers brought her to Bobbie Edwards, assistant director of the JPL/Caltech Child Educational Center in La Canada Flintridge. When three blows to the back didn’t work, Edwards placed Fiona on the floor and gave three abdominal thrusts. Fiona breathed. Doctors later removed a grape from Fiona’s windpipe and credited Edwards with saving her life with the Heimlich maneuver.
* The nonprofit Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic has reelected decorator Robin L. Moody of Glendale as secretary of its board of directors. The clinic serves disturbed and abused children.
* La Canada Flintridge resident Susan Gray-Holland has been awarded a Speech Foundation of America Fellowship to attend Northwestern University’s “Stuttering Therapy: Workshop for Specialists.” Gray-Holland, head of the Division of Hearing and Speech at Childrens Hospital, was one of 20 specialists from around the world invited to the two-week program in July.
* Nicole Dalkas of Glendale won the 12 to 14 age division for girls in the Sunrise Invitational golf tournament in Palm Desert.
* Louis Barnett of Glendale will be heading to Washington next month as a member of the 48-member California Delegation of the 1991 White House Conference on Library and Information Services. The conference, from July 9-13, will develop proposals for national information policy and library programs.
