SPORTS ON WEEKEND TV : Baseball, Golf, Olympic Fest

Appearances by the Dodgers, Angels and Padres along with two golf tournaments and the U.S. Olympic Festival highlight the weekend’s sports television viewing choices.

Baseball: The Dodgers, leaders in the National League West, are in Canada today to face the Montreal Expos at 4:30 p.m. on Channel 11. CBS (Channels 2 and 8) will televise Sunday’s game between the New York Yankees and the Angels at noon. The Padres will visit the New York Mets for a 4 p.m. game tonight on KUSI Channel 51. ESPN’s 5 p.m. Sunday game will feature the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays.

Golf: The seniors are in St. Annes, England for the Senior British Open, with delayed coverage airing at 3 p.m. today on Channels 7, 3 and 42, 2 p.m. on Channel 10, and 3 p.m. Sunday on all four area ABC affiliates. The U.S. Women’s Open will be seen live at 11 a.m. today and 12:30 p.m. Sunday on Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42.

Olympic Festival: ESPN will present five hours of coverage today and four Sunday, focusing on figure skating and boxing. East L.A. lightweight Oscar de la Hoya and Van Nuys heavyweight John Bray, are both scheduled to fight today. Pomona light-welterweight Shane Mosely is scheduled to box Sunday. The telecasts will begin at 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. today and 1:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sunday.
