From Staff and Wire Reports
A Belmont Race Course security guard accused of hitting three horses in the face with a stick and throwing bleach that damaged one animal’s eyes has been arrested on a charge of cruelty to animals, police said.
Terrance Knight, 18, told police at the time of his arrest Sunday he was petting the horses and that they nipped at him.
The injured animals--Slew’s Ghost, West Texas Wind and Lord Charles--were placed under the care of a veterinarian.
