Man Found Fatally Stabbed in Sepulveda

The body of a man who had been stabbed to death was found early Sunday outside a Sepulveda apartment complex, police said.

Officers responding to a call from a passerby at 6:25 a.m. found the body of Sergio Coyt, 19, seated against the side of a building in the 15200 block of Rayen Street with stab wounds in the upper part of his body, Los Angeles Police Officer Steve Mirabal said. Coyt was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mirabal said investigators believe that Coyt was stabbed Saturday night during a fight that occurred nearby in the 8800 block of Memory Park Avenue. He said Coyt walked away from the fight and apparently collapsed at the apartment building on Rayen Street. Police did not know where Coyt lived.

The stabbing was believed to be gang-related, but no suspects were identified Sunday, Mirabal said.
