Share

A lone bank robber made off with $1,100 from the Valley Federal Savings in Thousand Oaks on Monday after ordering a teller to hand over the contents of her cash drawer, authorities said.

The robber entered the bank in the 200 block of East Thousand Oaks Boulevard at 2:52 p.m. and gave the teller a demand note without displaying a weapon, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Terry Hughes.

There were no customers in the bank at the time and no one was injured, he said.

The thief fled on foot, avoiding patrol cars and a sheriff’s helicopter that were summoned.
