Bush Gets Putting Green on White House Lawn
President Bush no longer has to leave home to play golf. A nine-hole putting green was installed on the White House South Lawn while he was vacationing in Maine.
The single green, 55 feet by 35 feet, contains nine separate holes. It is in a secluded area of the White House grounds near the tennis court, hidden from public view by large trees and shrubs.
A spokesman said the putting green cost about $2,000, and was paid for with money from the White House budget. The tennis court also was resurfaced.
