The Clippers signed free-agent guard Clinton Smith, who was in training camp with the team last fall but didn’t make the squad. Smith, a 6-6 veteran of four years in the Continental Basketball Assn., played for the Albany Patroons last season, averaging 15 points, seven assists, six rebounds and 2.2 steals a game. He was with the Washington Bullets briefly in February.
