Perez’s Passes Lead Air Force, 31-26
Rob Perez threw for touchdowns on his only two completions of the day and ran for another as Air Force defeated Western Athletic Conference rival Colorado State, 31-26, Saturday.
Perez’s two quick touchdown passes, one to Scott Hufford and one to Obasi Onuoha, came inside a three-minute period in the third quarter and gave the Falcons their first lead of the game.
The victory, in the WAC opener for both teams, was Air Force’s second of the season. The Rams dropped to 1-1.
But Air Force needed Vincent Booker’s interception of Kevin Verdugo’s pass in the end zone with three seconds to play to preserve the victory.
