Dogs on Loose Pose a Danger

In reference to the article on the alleged killing of a dog by an ex-police officer, I walk and jog in those hills and on many occasions have seen dogs running loose. Coyotes also run around in the area but they are smart and run off when they hear you. Some thoughtless dog owners think they can let their unleashed dogs run loose anywhere. I have been chased twice by dogs and when the owners finally show up and say, “He’s a friendly dog; he won’t bite,” I ask them if it’s OK for me to climb down from where I had to go to get away from those friendly dogs’ sharp teeth.
Maybe the owners of the dog that was shot should be investigated for not keeping their dog under control and not having it on a leash.
