Long Beach Seeks to End Road Streak
Cal State Long Beach’s football team, which has a 12-game road losing streak, will play Boise State in a nonconference game tonight at Boise, Ida.
The 49ers, 0-1 under Coach Willie Brown, lost their opener to San Diego State, 49-13, at San Diego.
They have not won on the road since 1989, when they defeated Boise State, 17-14.
Cal State Long Beach is led by quarterback Todd Studer, who passed for 183 yards and two touchdowns against San Diego State, and wide receiver Mark Seay, who caught eight passes for 92 yards.
Boise State, a Division I-AA team, opened with a 35-14 victory over Liberty University of Lynchburg, Va., at Boise.
The 49ers defeated Boise State, 21-20, last year in Long Beach.
