Woman Surrenders in Slaying of Man
A Southeast San Diego woman surrendered Sunday, one day after investigators said she was wanted for questioning in the death of a 24-year-old man.
Cheryl MacClendon, 27, walked into police headquarters in downtown San Diego at 3:30 p.m. and surrendered, Lt. Francis Kenney said. MacClendon was wanted for questioning in the death of an unidentified man who was stabbed in the chest.
According to a police report of the incident, witnesses said that MacClendon and the victim were arguing about 9 p.m. Saturday in a house in the 3700 block of Euclid Avenue. Police were summoned to the residence at 11 p.m. and found the man lying on a couch, with a stab wound to the chest.
He was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the investigation is continuing and no charges have been filed. The murder weapon had not been found, police said Sunday.
