It took three emergency room doctors to reset a dislocated ring finger on Bryant Jackson’s left hand last Thursday night.
“The muscles were so tight in his hand that one doctor couldn’t reset it,” Loara Coach John deFries said Tuesday. “He was all numbed up, but three doctors finally had to do it.”
Jackson, an all-Empire League lineman at Loara, still doesn’t know how he injured his finger, only that he was in great pain after pressuring Western quarterback Brandon Brennan in the third quarter of the Saxons’ 7-6 victory.
Jackson, a 6-foot-2, 295-pound senior, will be in the Saxons’ lineup Friday against Anaheim. “He has to play,” deFries said. “He plays both ways for us, and we need him in there.”
