The Pierce College women’s volleyball team is struggling early in the season, although the Brahmas are facing tough competition.

The Brahmas, after opening the season on the wrong end of a sweep at defending state champion Golden West on Wednesday--were swept again Thursday, this time by visiting Pasadena City College, 16-14, 15-9, 15-10, in a nonconference match. Pasadena (4-1) finished sixth in last year’s state championships.
