Brea a Winner Despite Making Five Turnovers

BREA — Brea-Olinda rolled up 497 yards in total offense and overcame five turnovers to defeat Katella, 37-0, in front of 2,000 fans at Brea on Friday.
Quarterback Jason Luevanos completed 13 of 17 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats (2-0). Wingback Jamie Baraglia rushed for 84 yards on eight carries and caught four passes for 45 yards for Brea, which broke the game open with two touchdowns in the third quarter.
Marv Derrick returned an interception 15 yards for a score with 7:57 left in the quarter, and Luevanos connected with Gilbert Arriola for a 20-yard touchdown pass five minutes later to put the Wildcats in front, 24-0. Katella (1-1) turned the ball over twice to set up both Brea touchdowns.
Brea took a 10-0 halftime lead, despite two fumbles lost inside Katella’s five-yard line in the first half.
