A 54-year-old Fresno man was beaten to death late Thursday in a Barrio Logan alley, police said.
Ronald Wayne Chapman, a truck driver, was beaten with a blunt object at 11 p.m. Thursday in an alley in the 3600 block of Main Street, police said. He was the city’s 146th homicide victim of 1991.
A resident investigating sounds of an argument found Chapman dead in the street, Lt. Paul Ybarrondo said.
Police said Gordon Ham, 40, who lives in a camper that was parked in the alley, was seen standing near Chapman’s body. Ham left the scene on a motorcycle. Police want to question Ham, Ybarrondo said.
