NEWPORT BEACH : Police Department to Hold Open House

The Police Department will host an open house Sunday that will include displays about police, the Fire Department, the Marine Department, the California Highway Patrol and other emergency services.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. visitors will be able to tour the police facility and see displays of police and other emergency equipment, such as the “Jaws of Life” rescue device and lifeguard rescue boats.

Also, the Fire Department will stage an emergency scene that includes extinguishing a fire, and the police SWAT team will show how it operates.

The open house is being held in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, which concludes today, and the upcoming Red Ribbon Week, which begins Sunday.

The Police Department is at 870 S. Santa Barbara Drive.
