Gay Rights Protest Lesson in Civility

Capt. David Abrecht of the Garden Grove police was impressed by how well the gay group policed itself during (the Oct. 5) demonstration (“17 Arrested in Gay Rights Protest in Garden Grove,” Oct. 6). He should also be impressed by the way his forces handled themselves. They showed only fairness and professionalism.

In these days of police brutality and corruption, it’s refreshing that one police agency upholds its duty to serve all the people. The Garden Grove Police Department sets an excellent standard for all law enforcement in Southern California.
