A pickup truck crashed through the front entrance of a Quartz Hill restaurant Wednesday, the California Highway Patrol said.

No one was injured in the 4 p.m. crash, Officer Miguel Siordia said.

The pickup truck was traveling north on 50th Street West at Avenue L-12 when another vehicle abruptly pulled in front of it, Siordia said. The pickup truck’s driver, whose name was not released, swerved to the right, lost control and crashed into the front door of the China Restaurant at 42142 50th St. West, Siordia said.

The driver was not charged, but authorities are seeking information about the other vehicle, Siordia said.

It took several hours to remove the truck, which was wedged into the front entrance, but the restaurant remained open.

“We’re only serving takeout orders and customers have to come to the back door,” said co-owner Sinny Kong. “Tonight it’s been slow. But we have a lot of customers who like our food. Tell them we’ll have the door fixed real soon.”
