Strength Past 70
Sue Reilly’s article “Elder Buff” in the Oct. 17 Valley View section caught the attention of many senior bodybuilders and strongmen.
It would be a unique pleasure to see a strongmen exhibition involving men over 70. There are hundreds of men in the 60-year bracket who could perform phenomenal feats of strength, but age quickly takes its toll when you pass 70, regardless of genes, pills and minerals.
Theodore Hasape’s club, “The Samson’s Seventies,” should inspire seniors to stay in shape, especially bodybuilders.
Exactly what does Hasapes consider a strongman’s feat? Would I qualify if I could tear a telephone book (unbaked)?
