Dickerson Suspended Without Pay
Running back Eric Dickerson was suspended for four weeks without pay Thursday for refusing to practice with the Indianapolis Colts. Dickerson, suspended for six weeks last season for refusing to take a physical, was fined an additional one week’s pay and will lose $600,000 of his $2-million salary.
“He took himself out and, basically, it was a refusal to finish practice,” said Colt Coach Rick Venturi, who made the decision with the support of management.
Dickerson said he was insulted by being replaced in third-down passing situations in a 10-6 loss to Miami last Sunday.
