OJAI : Graduates Found to Be Succeeding

A survey of 38 students who graduated in June from Chaparral Continuation High School in Ojai shows an 85% success rate, a consistent percentage for seven years, Principal Roy Worsham said.
Graduate success is measured by enrollment in college or vocational school, working full or part time or enlisting in military service, Worsham told trustees of the Ojai Unified School District Tuesday.
The phone survey, conducted in October, was initiated to justify the school’s $241,880 annual budget. About 125 students in grades 10 to 12 enroll each year in the alternative school when they fail to earn enough credits at Nordhoff High School.
