COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Golden West to Play for Water Polo Title

Golden West advanced to the Southern California Regional water polo finals with a 16-3 victory over Grossmont Friday at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.
Carlos Uchoa scored four goals and Morgan Courtney had three for Golden West (29-1), the top-ranked team in Southern California and two-time defending state champion.
Golden West plays Long Beach for the Southern California title at 7:30 tonight. Long Beach beat Orange Coast, 10-6, in the other semifinal. OCC and Grossmont play at 6 p.m. for third place.
Golden West, Long Beach, Orange Coast and Grossmont already have qualified for the state tournament next weekend in San Jose.
Tony Fekete scored four goals in Golden West’s 20-4 victory over Chaffey, in a second-round game earlier Friday.
In other regional games:
Grossmont 12, Cypress 10--Jeff Williams scored four goals for Cypress, which was eliminated.
In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Orange Coast 7, Riverside 0--OCC (10-4-7, 7-1-3) scored six goals in the second half to maintain a one-point lead over second-place Irvine Valley.
Irvine Valley 1, Fullerton 0--Frank Pace scored in the second half for Irvine Valley.
In Orange Empire Conference women’s soccer:
Irvine Valley 2, Orange Coast 0--Kymm Maniscalco and Alicia Snyder each scored in the second half for host Irvine Valley (4-11, 3-7). Orange Coast is 5-7-2, 5-4-1.
