PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Delpino Has Hip Injury, Status Uncertain for Lions

Share

Tailback Robert Delpino, who suffered an injured hip in the Rams’ 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday, may not be 100% for Sunday’s game against the Lions at Pontiac, Mich.

Delpino’s injury, coupled with the continuing improvement of Marcus Dupree, could mean considerably more playing time for Dupree.

“I would anticipate Delpino not being on the practice field (today) or Thursday and possibly coming back on Friday,” Ram Coach John Robinson said. “He’s got some soreness in there, and I’m just not sure what his status is.”

The Rams are expected to sign defensive tackle David Rocker, a fourth-round draft choice who was on the Houston Oilers’ practice squad, and place him on the active roster. Defensive lineman Vance Hammond, a fifth-round choice by the Phoenix Cardinals, is expected to be added to the Rams’ practice squad.
