SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Pacifica Coach Bill Craven said his team needed a strong game against Bolsa Grande in preparation for the start of the playoffs next week. The Mariners responded with five first-half touchdowns to defeat the Matadors, 41-12, Thursday night at Bolsa Grande.

Senior Brian Danskin scored three second-quarter touchdowns to extend a 14-6 Mariner lead to 34-6 at halftime. Danskin caught scoring passes of 24 and eight yards--his only receptions--from quarterback Dan Murray and returned an interception 94 yards for a score on the final play of the half.
