The Cubs signed Tom Trebelhorn as a coach. Trebelhorn, who recently interviewed for the Cubs’ managerial opening, said he was offered the third base coaching job by new Manager Jim Lefebvre and General Manager Larry Himes. A Cubs’ statement said Trebelhorn’s coaching assignment has yet to be determined.
