“Bash ‘91,” the 21st annual festival sponsored by the Orange County Musicians Union, local 7 of the American Federation of Musicians, grossed “about $13,500” for the Musicians’ Emergency Relief and Scholarship funds, about $1,500 less than last year, according to union official Beverly Reidling. “It looks like the recession had some effect,” she said. However, she added, because of fewer expenses, the union still expects to net more than the $9,000 it raised last year. The event, held last week at the Red Lion Hotel in Costa Mesa, enlisted about 300 local musicians and drew about 1,100 people, Reidling said.
