Boxing
Daniel Zaragoza and Paul Banke, who have defeated each other once at the Forum, will fight again tonight as Zaragoza defends his World Boxing Council super bantamweight championship.
Banke lost to Zaragoza on a split decision in 1989, but in a rematch last year, Banke knocked Zaragoza down three times in the ninth round and the fight was stopped, giving Banke the title. Banke lost the crown seven months later at the Forum when he was stopped by Pedro Decima in the fourth round.
Zaragoza regained the title five months ago, scoring a decision over Japan’s Kiyoshi Hatanaka, who had taken the title by knocking out Decima.
Zaragoza, of Mexico City, is 43-5-1 with 20 knockouts. Banke, of San Bernardino, is 21-5 with 11 knockouts.
The card will begin at 7 p.m.
