Runway 25 Right, the inboard runway of the south runway complex at Los Angeles International Airport, will be closed for about four weeks, officials said Monday.

The runway is being closed to allow construction of Taxiway 75, the third north-south taxiway at the airport. During the closure, three runways will be handling aircraft takeoffs and landings that are usually done on four runways, which may result in additional takeoffs on Runway 25 Left.

“With additional operations on Runway 25 L, noise impacts are anticipated, and we will make every effort to mitigate noise and be sensitive to the local area,” said Clifton Moore, Department of Airports executive director.

A 24-hour phone number, (213) 646-6473, is available for use by residents for reporting any unusual aircraft noise or violation of noise abatement procedures. Construction of the taxiway began in October and is scheduled to be completed in about one year.
