Jockey Angel Cordero Jr., seriously injured in a spill at Aqueduct, underwent surgery for the removal of his spleen, his agent said Tuesday.

Frank Sanabria said the operation was performed Monday at Long Island Jewish Hospital.

“I can’t say that he’s feeling better, but he is stable,” Sanabria said. “He is still in intensive care recovering from the surgery, and I haven’t been able to see him.

“I think he will be in the hospital for several more days.”

A hospital spokesperson also listed Cordero’s condition as stable and said that no visitors or flowers were being allowed for the Hall of Fame rider.

Cordero broke three ribs and his left arm in a four-horse spill during the running of the second race Sunday.

John Velazquez, also involved the spill, was listed in good condition with facial lacerations. Velazquez’s agent, Jeff Mackor, said the jockey may resume riding by the end of the week.

Deal Rowdy, with Velazquez aboard, stumbled and flipped over at the three-eighths pole. In The Toe fell next, followed by Grey Tailwind. Cordero fell from Grey Tailwind into a strut supporting the inner rail.
