Terms of Violence
I read with disgust Sheriff’s Lt. Larry Richey’s statement regarding the vicious attack on Mr. (Doug) Haus. Lt. Richey said: “The attack was not significant. It was a minor stabbing” (“Man Says Youths Stalked His Van and Stabbed Him,” Jan. 19).
Lt. Richey has a couple of conflicting terms in his statement: attack and not significant and minor and stabbing !
It is appalling to me that a law enforcement officer would have such a casual attitude about an attempted murder.
