49ers Hire Mike Shanahan as Offensive Coordinator

Mike Shanahan, recently fired by the Denver Broncos, was selected as offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday.
Shanahan, 39, who coached the Raiders in 1988 and ‘89, was interviewed by 49er Coach George Seifert last Saturday to replace Mike Holmgren, who left to become head coach of the Green Bay Packers.
