Positron Wins Again at Los Alamitos
For the second time in three weeks, Positron got a perfect cover trip and then pulled away in the stretch to win an Invitational Pace at Los Alamitos Race Course Saturday.
Positron, a 5-year-old out of the Tim and Denise Maier Stable, paced the final quarter in 28.3 seconds and then held off a late charge by Noble Fella to win in 1:55.4, the second fastest invitational clocking of the season.
Noble Fella charged home to be second and Positive Spirit held on for third. Vance Lobell, the early leader and even-money favorite, finished well back in fourth. Positron paid $8.40 for the victory.
