Baldwin Park : Keyser Apologizes to Police
- Share via
Councilman Herschel Keyser, arrested last month on suspicion of drunken driving, has apologized to the Baldwin Park Police Department for abusive remarks he made to the officers who arrested and booked him, said Chris Carlos, president of the city’s Police Assn.
Carlos said he received an apology letter shortly after the association called for Keyser’s resignation at a council meeting earlier this month.
The association still believes that Keyser should not vote on police matters because of his apparent bias against the department, Carlos said.
Keyser last week pleaded innocent to misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and obstructing a peace officer.
He participated in last Wednesday’s council meeting but refused to comment on the controversy. He is running for reelection April 14.
