COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Canyons Wins Basketball Title

David Langley scored a team-high 19 points and Jason Joynes added 16 to lead the College of the Canyons men’s basketball team past visiting Glendale, 102-91, in a Western State Conference South Division finale Saturday night.
The win was the eighth in a row for Canyons (24-6, 9-1 in division play) and gave the Cougars their second consecutive division title.
Canyons led, 67-47, with 14 minutes remaining, but Glendale (13-16, 3-7), led by Alfonso Pule (season-high 33 points), narrowed the deficit to 92-81 with 3:02 left. The Vaqueros, however, could draw no closer.
