FULLERTON : Fire Destroys Garage, 2 Cars at Residence
An electrical short in a transformer sparked a fire Monday night that destroyed a home’s garage and two cars inside it, fire officials said.
A woman, who was not identified, was in the home in the 3800 block of Madonna Drive when she noticed her lights and television flickering and heard popping sounds coming from the garage just before 8 p.m., authorities said. When she opened the door, the entire garage was ablaze. She was not injured.
Firefighters from Brea, La Habra and Fullerton took 45 minutes to extinguish the flames. Fire destroyed the garage, causing $40,000 in damage.
