A fire at a defunct elementary school in Canoga Park caused $100,000 in damage Sunday, Los Angeles fire officials said.

Flames broke out shortly before 10:30 a.m. in a bungalow at the old Highlander School at Deveron Ridge and Highlander roads, said Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis. About two dozen firefighters knocked down the fire in less than half an hour.

No one was injured in the blaze, the cause of which has not been determined, Collis said. The school has been closed since 1972.
