The semifinals and final of AVP Miller Lite pro beach volleyball tournament at Pensacola Beach, Fla., were canceled because of rain. Top-seeded Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos, both of Pacific Palisades, were to face the No. 4-seeded team, Pat Powers of San Diego and Brian Lewis of Santa Monica, in one semifinal. In the other, No. 2-seeded Adam Johnson of San Clemente and Kent Steffes of Pacific Palisades were to meet No. 11 Larry Mear of San Clemente and Eric Wurts of Fountain Valley. With the cancellation, each team was awarded fifth-place money of $9,000. Smith’s share, $4,500, put him over the $1-million mark in career earnings.
