Stu Jackson Takes Wisconsin Job

Former New York Knick Coach Stu Jackson was hired Wednesday as Wisconsin’s basketball coach, taking over a program that has had only one winning season in 12 years.
Jackson, 36, whose head coaching experience consists of a little more than one season with the Knicks, replaces Steve Yoder, who resigned when Athletic Director Pat Richter refused to extend his contract beyond next season.
A press release said details of Jackson’s contract were being completed, but it was a multiyear deal with a base salary of $110,000. Jackson, currently the director of basketball operations with the NBA, declined comment on the terms, but the Capital Times of Madison reported Jackson agreed to a five-year contract valued at $275,000 per year.
