The World of Sports: Political Correctness, Lesbianism Fan Flames

The picture of the Harvard crew coach and the wet woman coxswain under the headline, “When men coach women, it can lead to sexual harassment and more” (April 2) is provocative. Is Harvard’s Harry Parker, world-class dean of American’s collegiate rowing coaches, sexually harassing his team members? The text of the article is filled with unfounded innuendo of “internal cover-ups,” however, the content of the article is, at best, inconclusive. Mr. Parker is never mentioned although he is clearly implicated.

The facts of the article are outdated. Zenon Barbraj--quoted as UCLA’s rowing coach--quit coaching at UCLA 10 months ago when the program was dismantled by the UCLA athletic department.

This is a worthwhile story and it needs to be addressed. Please dispatch reporters capable of covering a story with a degree of professionalism that reflects sensitivity to the weight of the subject, the vulnerability of the victims and the very real potential of implicating innocent bystanders. Or you could simply change the name of your paper to the L.A. Enquirer.
