BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Larkin, Tartabull on Disabled List
The Cincinnati Reds put shortstop Barry Larkin on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 19, and activated third baseman Chris Sabo.
Larkin was injured when he collided with left fielder Glenn Braggs while chasing a pop fly last week. Sabo had been out since April 8 because of a sprained right ankle suffered when he slid into first base.
New York Yankee outfielder Danny Tartabull was put on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring and a sore right wrist.
Mike Humphreys, a 25-year-old outfielder, was recalled from Columbus to take Tartabull’s spot.
